Hey my Majessties,
Sorry I've been kind of missing this last week. Blame Mother Nature.
Seriously. Living in the North, the superstorm and snow storms caused me to not have school four out of five days this past week, and no power or heat for three of them.
(Honestly, that was the view from my street during the power outage.)
Now, having no school may seem like a great time, and it is always nice to have an extra week to do an AP stat take home quiz you do not understand, but the boredom hits you quickly.
Plus, the cold does not make it any easier. Sadly, my house got so cold that my mom and I hijacked my aunt and uncle's house to keep warm, and, for me, to charge my phone. You never realize how quickly you use up your phone's battery until you have no way to charge it.
So, when the power and heat go out, leaving the house becomes necessary.
So, I took trips to the mall, friends houses, basically anywhere that would keep me busy and warm. It's harder than you would think. Going outside for even five minutes to drive somewhere easily chills your bones and makes your willpower to do anything little to none.
Overall, this week has been very unproductive. I spent way too much money at the Body Shop when I went shopping alone and we went out for dinner way too many times this week.
When I got back from a ski trip with my school last night, I was surprised with a nice warm house and my own bed to sleep in. No more cuddling in blankets on a little cot in my relative's house.
Obviously, my room was not back up to the normal warmth so I slept under sheets, and two comforters. Trust me, I was toasty warm when I went to bed. But sometime during the night, the heater caught up and I woke up having thrown off all of my covers. Oh well, that's better than being freezing.
This weather may have given me a nice February break from my senior year of high school, but it definitely was not worth the shivering and lack of social networking.
Trust a teenager to post about the lack of social media because of a major snowstorm, but oh well. What can you expect? I have a life and some of it exists on the internet.
Keep warm!
Jess
