Hey my majessties,
A break from school finally came last week because it was spring break!!!
My family and I took a bit of a drive down to Florida for the week to soak up some much needed sun and fun. And my cousin and his family joined us, which made the week even better.
We rented a house in Anna Maria, Florida which is about 8 hours away from me and 20 away from my parents. Stinks for them. They picked me up Friday night around 2AM and we drove two more hours before sleeping the rest of the night away. After resuming the drive on Saturday morning, we arrived around 4 and were greeted with a nice house and heated pool. But more importantly, 80 degree weather!!
The first couple days were just spent tanning and realizing by the water or going on bike rides around the town looking for the next ice cream place. And I am proud to say that I did not get sunburned. Whoop whoop.
Tuseday was probably the most exiting day because we went to Universal Studios in Orlando. We met up with my friend Allie and her bf Adam for the day. And hands-down the best part was Harry Potter World. It was crazy. I'll just leave it at that because it is kind of hard to wrap your head around.
I am not a big fan of rides but everyone managed to get me on a few. (I just closed my eyes during the ride if I didn't like it). Needless to say my eyes were closed basically the entire time during the Mummy ride. But I think I should get a pat on the back for at least going on it.
Once the day finished and Allie and I said our long goodbyes (we won't see each other until summer break), we headed back to have a really nice, long sleep.
Wednesday was another busy day. We didn't have to get up too early but around 11 we got back into the car and drove to Clearwater, FL for a Phillies Spring Training game. This was definitely more exciting for my family than my cousins but oh well. And we beat the Pittsburgh Pirates! But once the game finished and we got out of the horrific traffic, we spent the rest of the day by the pool catching up on all the relaxation time we had missed.
Thursday separated the men from the women. The girls got to spend another day at the beach and hanging out while the men spent the entire afternoon fishing. But they did catch what would be our dinner on Friday!
Friday was our last full day in Florida and we all took advantage of it. We went to get ice cream again and all ended up on the beach to watch the sunset and play frisbee in the water. Plenty of group photos were taken to help us remember the trip, too.
This past week was such a nice break and we all really enjoyed it. It is going to be tough getting back into the swing of things at school but I guess I have to accept that spring break is over. Now just a month and a half until summer break! I cannot believe I am almost done my freshman year of college!
Enjoy!
Jess
Hey my majessties,
This blog is just going to be a recap of this last weekend. It was a pretty busy one but it was so much fun so I thought I would share what I did.
Hey my majessties,
So, yesterday was definitely different down here at USC. We had a shooting on campus that left the campus on lockdown and two dead. While the shooter's identity still has not been revealed, the other person was a beloved faculty member. What a day, right? I woke up yesterday morning not looking forward to classes and thinking it would be just another regular day. How wrong was I?
Hey my Majessties!!
GUESS WHAT.
I'm hoping you guessed but since you can see this and you saw the title, it won't be that hard to figure out what's up.

My blog is officially a year old! The actual date was earlier this month but I cannot believe it. When I decided to start this, I was not sure if I would make it this long let alone have people who continued to read it!
I love doing this and although I am not the most consistent updater, I do enjoy writing my posts and talking about anything that is on my mind.
So, to celebrate the anniversary, I updated the style of my blog again. The last time I did that I may have had a little too much fun with the color options so I have changed the overall template and coloring to make it more simple and easy to read. I hope you like the changes because I really do!
Anyway, I hope this blog will continue on for many years to come, but the first year will always be the most special. Thank you for reading and I hope you continue to follow me in my long-winded rants about nothing in particular!
Enjoy!
Jess
(This is a photo of me while writing this. So I'm celebrating for this and the fact that it's the weekend!)
Hey my majessties,
So, winter break is basically over. I know a few people who have already started school. I begin this coming Monday and I am not looking forward to the onslaught of essays and exams that mean everything in college but nothing in the real world. And I feel even worse about them for those kids still in high school. When you're there, they give you these rose-colored glasses that make you feel like what you are learning will actually help you in college. Your professors teachers are still trying to make you think that their classes are like college ones. They are lying.
